About
The problem we're solving
Independent hair stylists lose 8 to 12 hours of billable chair time every week to no-shows and same-day cancellations. At $70 per service, that's up to $5,000 a year walking out the door.
The existing tools were built for salon owners managing staff. They're not built for the booth renter who works alone, rents their chair for $400 a month, and has no staff to chase down no-shows.
What Clipr does
Clipr is a last-minute slot recovery tool for independent stylists. When a slot opens up, the stylist posts it in under 60 seconds. Nearby clients within a 5-mile radius get a push notification and can book and prepay in two taps.
Slots expire in real time. Optional last-minute pricing creates urgency. The average gap between posting and booking is under 30 minutes in our Atlanta beta.
Our model
Clipr charges 15% per transaction. No monthly subscription for the base tier. No fee until a booking clears. StyleSeat and Booksy charge 30% on every new client plus a monthly bill — Clipr charges half that, with nothing up front.
The optional Pro tier ($29/month) adds automated deposit collection and no-show fee enforcement, removing the most time-consuming manual task independent stylists face.
Where we are
We launched the Atlanta beta with 60 stylists across two salon chains. We're measuring fill rates, push notification timing, and repeat client conversion. Dallas and Chicago follow in 2026.
The team
Clipr was founded by people who watched booth renters manually text their client lists every time a slot opened, and thought: this should be a push notification.
"This should be a push notification."
